.Hi,

I'm a retired professional musician. I sing and play guitar for fun in my favourite social clubs and working mens clubs around the East Kent area. I have a small recording studio in Sittingbourne where I record and produce all my own backing tracks. I never buy those awful 'ready made' Mp3 backing tracks, to me-thats cheating, everythimg you hear on my backings is me, besides, I dont need guitar solo's on them, I play them myself.

I play and record drums, bass, keyboards and vocal harmonies etc. to enable me to perform with a full sound on stage. ,,,,,,,,,,,I have been in many bands up until 1999 when I decided to work full time as a solo entertainer. I was playing every venue I could up until recently, I have now slowed down amd am mostly retired, but I still like to play at 'good' club venues..( No p*ss head pubs), and I don't do private parties!!.

Over the past 11 years I have built up quite a good reputation and over this time I have recorded 25 CD's,

I have toured and appeared in shows and have supported and worked with such names as: 'The Everly Brothers', 'The Searchers', 'Marmalade', 'The Fortunes', 'The Rocking Berries', 'The Mindbenders', 'The Swinging Blue Jeans', 'Dave Dee -Dozy -Beaky -Mick and Titch', 'The Tremelos', 'Brian Poole and Black Cat' and 'Freddie and the Dreamers'.

I've also appeared in shows at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Kent, with my band NETWORK and later a reunion show with my old 60's band 'THE SATANS'.

Although my roots are 60's .... I feature right across the board, my music ranges mainly on popular covers of all 'classic' styles. I love the sixties...after all, I WAS there, at the start of the 'beat group' era in my band 'THE SATANS' in 1962 ..

(See my 'history' page... I am an 'Original'....but don't tell anyone!!)

MISTAKE IN MY LIFE: My group turned down the demo to 'Concrete and Clay' way back in 1964!.. 3 months later it was a top twenty hit for 'Unit4 plus 2'..(Mike Rawlings..if you ever see this, I'm sorry!!)

My live stage act includes: mainly early rock n' roll of the 50's- (Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Buddy, Chuck). 60's- (Searchers, Hollies, Shadows, etc). Country rock sounds- (Eagles, Poco, Lone Star, Alman Brothers). The sound of reggae- (Bob/ UB40). And just a bit of Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Gary Moore, Van Morrison and melodic power ballads etc.

ON STAGE: I use top quality P.A. and playback equipment and simulate the FULL sound of a band. Having always played in a group I would not be happy with anything less.. I record all backing instruments (except lead guitar) in 'real time' in my studio. I play drums, bass and keyboards using 'midi' sequencing PC software (Cubase) and then send it to an external SC-88 Roland Sound Canvas module. From there I record down the instrumental backing track onto my multitrack '64 track' hard drive digital studio. I sing and record harmony vocals (if needed) . The tracks are saved to my hard drive. Then transfered (via a flashdrive) to my laptop..

Using 'Winamp' software, I work with the mp3 backings from my laptop......I I use Fender Strats, a Fender Telecaster and Gibson SG guitars, I have recently added a Fender 12 string Strat which gives a change of sound for a few numbers midway through my set. My instruments are played through a Zoom G71ut guitar FX unit, with compression and amp simulation via a mixer DI. . ( 60's tape echo simulation is used for any Shadows instrumentals) . The main 'Front of house' PA is a pair of 'LD Systems' active full range cabs. Bi-amped : 100w. horn, 250w. mid/bass. (350watts each cab, giving a total RMS power of: 700watts).

My recording of 'MOVE IT!' has been featured in the New Musical Express magazine..! Watch it? :

.....October 2009...

My harmony influences are; 'The Everly Brothers', 'The Byrds', 'The Hollies', 'The Eagles' and 'Smokie'. My early guitar influences were Hank Marvin, Mick Green (Johnny Kidd and the Pirates) and James Burton (Rick Nelsons guitarist). Rock n' roll heroes of mine include Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly. ...My more 'rock' infuences are Gary Moore, Vinny Burns, Eagles, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton.

When we were working with Brian Poole at a corporate show for Phizers in Sandwich in the mid 80's, my band 'Now N Then' were offered the job as his backing band to replace 'Black Cat' who at the time were disbanding. We were flattered but declined, because at the time I was a partner in an electrical business and the others all had good regular jobs...(Boring!) Also, I didn't want to be tied down to just one genre, playing only 60's music all night would really...bore me crazy!
