I left the band in 1981 to audition for a comedy showband called 'Life and Soul', Mick Gold took my place as guitarist.

After I had left, Barry also departed from Cascade, and a new bassist Richard had joined them. Meanwhile I had passed the audition for 'Life and Soul', but I felt unsure and unconfident with the decision to join them.

Cascade at this time were having problems with new bassist Richard, he was not happy playing the style of music and was not fitting in.

I changed my mind about joining Life and Soul and returned to Cascade, this time replacing Richard on bass who wanted to be free to try other projects.
