THE VARIATIONS.. (Mk1).

1967:

'The Variations' were the idea of Bass Player Jim Brice

and my old pal John Copeland (Ex 'Satans')

A 'Function' type band fronted by a young lady singer called Anne Peat.

Here she can be seen at a very early gig singing at Chartham village near Canterbury.

An excellent singer who sounded similar to Sandie Shaw.

However, her stay with the band was short lived, due to family reasons.

1968:

Three summer seasons (1968/69/70) at 'The Queens Hotel',

Cliftonville, Margate.....Good fun!

1968/69:
Summer 1968, After a long time auditioning singers, we discovered Angela Allen from Ashford.

Just a four piece again, doing ok sharing the vocals.

Playing at an hotel in Ramsgate..

1971:  
With new member Barry Morgan on keyboards, we developed into a

very busy and popular 'Dinner Dance'/'Function' band.

Here we are at our peak, playing 'The Kings Hall' in Herne Bay.

1972:  

Finishing on a high... 'The Firemans Ball 'in Canterbury.

Our last night together, the end of a great band...

In 1992, There was a 're-union'
